MISSOULA, Mont. — Missoula will be filled with hunting and outdoor events this weekend as the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation hosts its first-ever Big Game Days.

The event runs Friday through Sunday, with activities scheduled throughout Missoula.

Adam Heggenstalle, the foundation’s director of communications, joined NBC Montana Today’s Jason Hurst live in studio Friday morning to share what attendees can expect.

Among the weekend’s events, Snowbowl Resort will host archery courses Friday featuring 25 3D targets set at distances ranging from 25 to 100 yards.

The World Elk Calling Championships are also scheduled for the weekend at the Wilma.

RMEF Basecamp will be set up at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation headquarters, where about 30 hunting and outdoor gear vendors are expected, along with an RMEF Sidewalk Sale.

On Saturday, the TOUGH ELK Workout will take place at Caras Park. The workout is designed by MTNTOUGH to simulate a backcountry hunt, with activities including lunges, box step-overs, squats and rucking.

Additional Big Game Days events are scheduled throughout the weekend.
