SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The South Dakota Open Tennis Tournament wrapped up Sunday in Sioux Falls and it was well worth the drive from Madison, WI for the Men’s and Women’s open singles champions.
2nd-seeded Matthew Fullerton controlled his title match with Maddox Lundell, winning 6-4, 6-2.
And the Women’s champ was guaranteed to be a Badger after Saturday’s semi-finals. Katya Ivanova and Kaede Usui are teammates at the University of Wisconsin.
It was a close match but the top-seeded Ivanova took home the $5,000 winning check with a 7-6, 7-5 victory.
