BREWER, Maine (WABI) – The wildlife crossings on I-395 have been proven successful, according to the MaineDOT.
Officials said they have recorded more than 500 crossings over the past year.
They say animals such as white-tailed deer, porcupines, gray squirrels, raccoons, snowshoe hares, and bobcats have used the crossings.

The new Route 9 Connector has also significantly cut down heavy-traffic on local roads, officials said.
