“It’s so hard to believe a world without you. You’re greatly missed. I’m thankful for all your work and the podcasts you did. You will live on forever…not only with your family, friends, etc. But also with the fans that love you. Rest peacefully,” one person wrote on July 13, 2025.

“I happen to think of you and realized that actually today a year ago is when you passed. What a coincidence. Miss you and hope you are enjoying heaven,” someone else said.

“A year since you left for a place where you were going to meet our dear Luke, a year in which Brend and Dylan would meet again… wherever you are, we miss you very much,” a third comment read.

“It’s been a year! I miss you so much Shannen! We will NEVER let anyone forget you,” a fourth Instagram user added.

Doherty’s death was confirmed by her longtime publicist Leslie Sloane.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease,” Sloane told People magazine at the time. “The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
