Now, we knew Casemiro was joining Inter Miami long before it was announced a little earlier, but the move is being investigated after the Florida-based side potentially violated tampering rules.
ESPN is reporting that LA Galaxy filed a tampering claim against Inter Miami with the MLS regarding contact with Casemiro without first acquiring the player’s Discovery Priority.
Though Inter Miami and the Galaxy have since reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority of Casemiro, the league will continue to review the claim.
An MLS statement confirmed: “Major League Soccer is reviewing a tampering allegation against Inter Miami CF.
“The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete.
“While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the discovery priority to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation.”
