Additionally, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 has gained the weaker Core Ultra 7 251HX. One of the slowest processors in Intel’s Arrow Lake HX family, the Core Ultra 7 251HX drops to 18 cores, which puts it between the existing Core Ultra 5 235HX and Core Ultra 7 255HX. For reference, the Core Ultra 7 251HX trails the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus Plus by over 20% in multi-core workloads.
Moreover, Lenovo has added the GeForce RTX 5070 12GB to the ThinkBook 16p G6’s configuration options. Capped at a 115 W total graphics power (TGP), the new GPU option brings 50% extra VRAM to the ThinkBook 16p G6, which should prove useful in some games and at some graphics settings. A 165 Hz IPS display with a 3.2K native resolution returns, as does an 85 Wh battery, dual M.2 2280 slots and support for up to 64 GB of RAM. Pricing and availability remain unknown for now, though.
