Las Vegas native and four-year NBA veteran Orlando Robinson joins Bryan Salmond for the latest Salmond Sit Down ahead of his second annual Orlando Robinson Basketball Camp.
Robinson opens up about why giving back to the city that raised him means so much. He reflects on growing up in a different Las Vegas—before the arrival of major professional sports franchises and at a time when opportunities for young basketball players were limited. Robinson remembers that youth camps were few and far between, and those that existed certainly weren’t free.
Now, he’s creating the opportunity he wished he had as a kid.
The free camp is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 16 and will feature Robinson alongside several fellow professional basketball players serving as coaches and mentors. But the camp is about much more than basketball.
Robinson tells Salmond the event will also include sessions focused on the mental side of sports, teaching young athletes the importance of mental awareness, resilience, and mental health as part of their overall well-being. Books and educational resources will also be available on-site, reinforcing the camp’s commitment to helping kids grow both on and off the court.
Don’t miss Bryan Salmond’s one-on-one conversation with Orlando Robinson as he discusses basketball, community, and his mission to inspire and empower the next generation of Las Vegas youth.
