EPHRAIM, Utah (KUTV) — A bear spotted within Ephraim city limits early Tuesday was safely tranquilized and relocated after wildlife officials responded to the area.
Ephraim Police said the bear was spotted within the city early Tuesday morning. With assistance from partner agencies, a Utah Division of Wildlife Resources wildlife biologist safely tranquilized the bear and relocated it to more suitable habitat.
Officials thanked the public for its cooperation and patience while crews worked to ensure the safety of both the public and the bear.
Residents who encounter wildlife in town are encouraged to keep their distance and report the sighting to the appropriate authorities.
