The Vallejo Project is inviting families, neighbors, artists, and community supporters to join an afternoon celebrating creativity, community, and the Unity Garden during its Rock Painting Party on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The free community event at 2160 Sacramento Street in Vallejo aims to bring people together to paint colorful rocks that will become part of the Unity Garden, creating a lasting symbol of hope, resilience, and community pride. Participants of all ages are welcome, and no artistic experience is necessary.

In addition to rock painting, guests can enjoy:

Fresh homemade lemonade
A tomato sauce-making demonstration
Opportunities to sign up for upcoming Vallejo Project programs
Volunteer registration
Family-friendly activities celebrating creativity and community connection

The Unity Garden serves as a gathering place where residents learn about healthy living, food production, environmental stewardship, and neighborhood engagement. The Rock Painting Party is designed to help commemorate the garden while welcoming new volunteers and supporters into the Vallejo Project community.

“This event is about creating something meaningful together,” said Vallejo Project leadership in a news release. “Every painted rock represents someone who believes in building a stronger, healthier, and more connected Vallejo.”
