24-inch water main break causing issues across Forsyth County | What we know so far

We are working to learn why so many customers are without water.

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. —

Residents across the eastern side of Forsyth County are experiencing water service disruptions following a major water main break, according to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities.

Water Service Outage

Crews are working to repair the 24-inch water main, which is affecting customers in Kernersville, Walkertown and Winston-Salem.

Residents may experience low water pressure or temporary interruptions in water service.

Customers Impacted By Outage

City officials have released a photo of areas potentially impacted by the water main break. See below:

Kernersville residents were alerted Wednesday to possible service disruptions related to planned water system improvements. Affected areas include the 600 and 700 blocks of Farmwood Drive and all of Oxford Ridge Court.

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities said the water outages are not related to any water shutoff projects previously scheduled for Wednesday.

Water Distribution on Thursday

Bottled water will be distributed at the following locations while supplies last starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday:
