The PGA Tour this week announced its planned return to Silverado Country Club in 2027 after not coming to Napa this year.
The name of the tournament, scheduled for July 29-Aug.1, 2027, has yet to be determined, but as of now it’s a one-year stop — the tour featuring many of the top men’s pro golfers in the world won’t return to Napa in 2028, when the PGA shifts to a new, two-tiered “Championship” and “Challenger” system.
The tour’s last stop at Silverado Country Club saw its strongest field ever for Napa.
No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler won the Procore Championship at Silverado in 2025 as one of 10 players from the U.S. Ryder Cup team who played at Napa as a warmup.
It was the team’s last stop before the Ryder Cup, a biennial tournament played between teams of top golfers from the United States and Europe. Europe won last year’s Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York.
Next year’s Napa tournament will take place two weeks after the British Open. It will be televised by CBS and sponsored by Sompo, a multinational insurance holding and financial group that is part of Japan-based Sompo Holdings.
The Silverado course hosted annual tournaments from 1968-1980 and 2014-2025.
