SEC Media Days came and went a couple weeks back, but comments made by players and coaches alike still weighs heavy on our minds. That includes comments made by senior defensive end and edge Colin Simmons, who has emerged as one of the program’s go-to leaders ahead of the 2026 college football season.
During an interview with media, Simmons was asked about Texas’ preparation prior to notable rematches, such as Ohio State, which beat the Longhorns to open the 2025 season.
“Every game is a must-win,” Simmons said during SEC Media Days, according to Sports Illustrated. “It ain’t no game that we looking down on. It don’t matter if you’re Ohio State or Texas State. We’re taking every game with the right preparation.”
Per ESPN’s College Football Power Index, Ohio State has a 17 percent to win a national championship this year.
Meanwhile, the Index estimates that Texas has a nearly 13 percent change of winning it all.
Ohio State travels to Austin this year, where they’ll face off against the Longhorns on September 12.
Kickoff is set for 6:30pm central.
