Coming out of the All-Star break, Seattle Storm forward Dominique Malonga, fresh off her first All-Star appearance, missed the team’s loss to the Indiana Fever due to a back injury. However, as the Storm hope to snap a seven-game losing streak that goes back before the break as they visit the Atlanta Dream on Friday, they are set to get the former No. 2 overall pick back in the lineup.
Dominique Malonga was officially listed as probable on the Storm’s injury report the day before the team travels to face off against the Dream. She’s missed a total of nine games this year, her second in the WNBA.
When the Storm made her the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, she became the youngest played to ever be drafted in league history. After a promising rookie year, Malonga was selected this season to her first, in what’s sure to be many, All-Star appearances.
She’s played in a total of 21 games at a little over 25 minutes per game while establishing herself as one of the Storm’s franchise cornerstones. She’s averaging 16.3 points, more than doubling her rookie average of 7.7, to go along with 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocked shots. She’s shooting 47.6 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from the 3-point line and 70.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Malonga became only the fifth player in WNBA history, and the first since Sylvia Fowles in 2022, to dunk in the All-Star Game. She also plays for the French national team, and was a part of the silver medal winning squad during the 2024 Paris Olympics.
