Baby kidnapped from central Indiana found hours later at Louisville bus station

Alex SuckowLOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A baby abducted from central Indiana was recovered safely just hours later at a Louisville bus station.

Her suspected kidnapper is now in jail.

A 6-month-old named Adalyn disappeared Thursday just before 6 p.m. from West Lafayette, about three hours north.

Police said she was abducted by 22-year-old Jasmine O’Sullivan, of Georgia.

According to investigators, O’Sullivan used someone else’s identity to gain the trust of baby Adalyn’s mother in the days prior.

Investigators coordinated with regional, state, and federal law enforcement, put out information, and got a lead she was on a bus headed to Louisville.

Officers with LMPD’s First Division, specialized task force personnel and SWAT prepared for the bus’s arrival, and at around 10:15 p.m., officers found O’Sullivan and the baby at the Greyhound Bus Station on West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

The FBI took her into custody and reunited the baby with her family at Norton Children’s Hospital.

O’Sullivan is now facing a federal kidnapping charge, according to LMPD.

The person whose identity was used was not involved, officials said.
