FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Heavy metal fans gathered for the third annual Metal at the Marina festival at the Frankfort Marina on Saturday.
The free event featured heavy metal bands from across the Northeast and Utica, along with craft vendors, food trucks and a brewery.
Organizer Austin Evanchack said, “I believe there’s a gigantic misconception about heavy metal music. A lot of people find it to be scary, or dangerous, or unsettling. We try to change that narrative here at Metal at the Marina; we encourage everybody to bring the family down. Even if the music isn’t for you, come down and check out the vendors and just see what it’s all about.”
The festival runs until 9 p.m.
