Aaron Rodgers said his wife Brittani is the reason his relationship with his family has been repaired.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, 42, patched things up with his parents, Darla and Ed Rodgers, and his older brother, Luke Rodgers earlier this year.
“There’s been a lot of conversation about it outside of my own conversation for so many years,” Rodgers told Kyle Brandt on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “A big part of it was getting married and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up to the possibility of coming together.
“It’s been a couple-year process now, the conversations with them.”
The Rodgers family feud has been well known since 2016 when his younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, discussed their estrangement on JoJo Fletcher’s season of “The Bachelorette.” claiming that the football player had distanced himself from them.
“I’ve been very closed off about that part of my life, and I want to keep it that way,” Aaron Rodgers said on “Good Morning Football.” “But there’s been a narrative that’s gone on for too long that I kind of wanted to shut down, and it’s been really beautiful to reconnect with them, all of them.”
Aaron Rodgers shared a series of photos of himself and his family on Instagram last month.
“I got to spend a long weekend recently with them in Nashville, with my parents, my brother and his sweet wife and their incredible two kids,” Aaron Rodgers said. “So I got to be an uncle.
“It’s really special. A lot of my life has been full-circle, I think the last year, and that was part of it.
“I’m happy to be reunited, and that part of my life is a really beautiful addition. I’ve got to give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me, ‘cause she never was — but just the way that she loves and supports me. Having her by my side during this process has been really special.”
