A woman was shot to death while walking a child to a bus stop in west Louisville, and police have a teen suspect in custody.Police said the shooting happened around 8 a.m. in the area of West Chestnut Street and 11th Street, in the Russell neighborhood. The shootings were close to two JCPS schools, a YMCA and a library.The chief said that after the first shooting (Aug. 7), they have had officers out at the bus stop every morning through Tuesday (Aug. 12). They were not present Wednesday, the day of the second shooting.The shooting scene was clear and all roads had reopened just before 10:30 a.m.A councilmember told WLKY there was supposed to be a meeting Wednesday to talk about last week’s shooting, and now they will be discussing both.
