HOUSTON — One of Houston’s newest sports and entertainment venues is set to host a major sporting event this fall.
Fort Bend Epicenter — the $120 million, 230,000-square-foot sports and entertainment venue in Rosenberg that opened in August 2023 — will host The Preview College Basketball Exhibition on Oct. 26. The event is a preseason, nonconference collegiate basketball doubleheader featuring the University of Houston against Mississippi State University and Texas A&M University versus Arizona State University.
The inaugural event is hosted by Houston-based United Sports & Entertainment.
Conversations between Fort Bend Epicenter and United Sports & Entertainment began before the venue even opened, said India Johnson, director of business development and events at Fort Bend Epicenter. Both parties initially planned to host the event last year, but those plans fell through.
“When the opportunity arose again, it was a no-brainer for both sides,” Johnson said.
