CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The 2026 Cincinnati Open is right around the corner, and a former Mason High School tennis standout is set to make his professional tour debut at this year’s tournament.
Vignesh Gogineni practiced Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. The 22-year-old recent Yale graduate won a state championship at the same facility four years ago.

Gogineni will play his first professional-level match next week in front of friends and family after receiving a qualifying wild card into the tournament.
“I found out mid-tournament in Champaign that I actually received a wild card for this tournament. And it was obviously like, it was one of the best like calls that I’ve ever gotten in my life,” Gogineni said.
The qualifying wild card means Gogineni must win two matches in the qualifying event to advance to the main draw.
