About a dozen vehicles become stuck in floodwaters in Penn Hills

Part of Rodi Road in Penn Hills was covered with water on Friday afternoon following reports of flash flooding.

Despite water on the road, traffic was still getting by in both directions.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 spoke with Bill Jeffcoat, the Penn Hills No. 7 VFC fire chief, at the scene of an incident where a vehicle became stuck in a tunnel in the area of Old William Penn Highway and Thompson Run Road.

He said about a dozen vehicles became stuck due to floodwaters on Friday, with two incidents in which people needed to be helped from those vehicles.

There were no initial reports of injuries related to the flash flooding.
