Rochester, N.Y. — Jordan Health held its annual Front Porch Festival and Health Fair on Saturday to celebrate National Community Health Center Week.
Organizers describe it as a community event, focused on health care, education ad sharing information to address some of the health and education disparities facing people in Rochester.
“It’s a great time to gather information, we have different resources that are here, organizations that are here and it’s all community based,” said Anthony L. Jordan Health Center Interim President and CEO Dr. Fred Johnson, Sr. “Here in Rochester, we have a lot of resources, but we don’t always know where to go for the resources and so events like this, The Front Porch Festival, is here to get the information of established organizations that are here in Rochester so that people could take advantage of those services that already exist.”
Attendees had the opportunity to get free health screenings and food. Children were treated to free haircuts, braiding and backpacks.
