Suspicious package prompted bomb squad, police investigation in Penn Hills
PENN HILLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
The Allegheny County Bomb Squad and Penn Hills police were on the scene for hours Sunday afternoon after a suspicious package was found outside a local business.

County officials first confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that its bomb squad was assisting local police with an investigation along the 12000 block of Frankstown Road.
Our photojournalist was on the scene, where an ambulance and fire vehicle were blocking the road to traffic. Police and what appeared to be bomb squad officials were also observed walking along the road.
Following the incident, the Penn Hills No. 7 VFC issued a post on Facebook, saying that authorities were called after reports of a suspicious package found outside a business in the area.
Penn Hills No. 7 VFC said the package was later cleared, and all businesses reopened after about two hours.
The road has since reopened as well.
