The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has formally identified those who died earlier this week in the Hopkins and Burnsville tragedy.
As previously reported, 41-year-old Kristen Brown and 7-year-old Evie Brown are believed to have been killed by 41-year-old Nathan Brown before he killed himself Wednesday.
The medical examiner also confirmed that 78-year-old Alice Brown, whom police confirmed was “a close family relative” of Nathan Brown, was the woman found dead in Burnsville later the same day.

Search warrants revealed that the man who called 911 to the Brown’s in-home daycare in Hopkins did so after hearing screaming when he went to drop his kids off there.
Six other kids were inside the home at the time and were all physically unharmed, according to police.

Investigators say a least one person had received a letter from Kristen about two weeks ago stating the daycare would be closing due to “relationship issues with Nathan,” court records state.
While the medical examiner has yet to officially rule on their causes of death, the warrant states that Nathan killed his wife and daughter with a screwdriver.
As the community continues to mourn, a small memorial for Kristen and Evie has formed outside the Hopkins daycare. Flowers, a candle and a small plushie were seen lining the concrete just outside the home starting Thursday morning and continuing on Friday.
