The Miami Marlins selected Saint Louis alumnus Aiva Arquette with the No. 7 overall selection in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft today.
Arquette, a 6-foot-5 shortstop, hit .354 with 17 doubles, 19 home runs, 66 RBIs and 73 runs scored for Oregon State as a junior this season.
Arquette transferred to the Beavers after playing two seasons with the Washington Huskies.

Arquette is the second-highest draft pick who graduated from high school in Hawaii ever. Only Punahou’s Justin Wayne, who was taken as the fifth overall pick by the Montreal Expos in 2000 after playing college baseball at Stanford, was taken higher.
Arquette was the first college position player selected in this year’s draft.
