Bryson DeChambeau has revealed he will be making a return to the DP World Tour this winter.
The two-times US Open winner has not appeared on the circuit since 2022 and DeChambeau’s schedule for the 2027 season remains up in the air because of the ongoing uncertainty around LIV Golf.
DeChambeau has led the fight for LIV’s survival since it emerged the Saudi Public Investment Fund would be withdrawing its support at the end of the season.
Ahead of his final LIV start of the season at Indianapolis, DeChambeau announced in a video with Gary Player that he would be teeing it up in this December’s Nedbank Golf Challenge. It will be DeChambeau’s second start in South Africa this year after he won on LIV’s inaugural visit in March.
“I am absolutely delighted that Bryson will compete in this year’s Nedbank Golf Challenge,” Player said. “The South African crowds loved watching him play earlier this year, and it is wonderful to welcome him back to our incredible country. Bryson’s passion, power and commitment to the game continue to inspire fans around the world.”
It will be DeChambeau’s first start in the $6million DP World Tour event at Sun City on December 3-6, which clashes with the Australian Open that will see Rory McIlroy tee it up at Kingston Heath.
The Nedbank is one of the opening events on the DP World Tour’s 2027 wraparound schedule and has a winners list that includes Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo and Ernie Els.
DeChambeau could, however, play on the DP World Tour before his latest trip to South Africa. The Californian has not ruled out the possibility of competing next month at the Irish Open, which is held at Trump International Links Doonberg, a course owned by the US President.
