Kaitlin CorbettDERRY, N.H. —

Derry police are still searching for a suspect after they said a woman was allegedly assaulted while walking along the trails at the historic Robert Frost Farms.

Bob Stacy from Derry said he walks those same trails three times a day, every day, and he’s done so for the last decade.

Derry police said that the alleged assault took place just before 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

When Stacy showed up for his daily walk with his dog, Savannah, around 6 p.m., he found police still on scene.

“They had a cruiser blocking off the driveway. And there were two cruisers down here, right around here. And there were a couple of cars here, and that’s all I saw,” Stacy said.

Police told News 9 the woman was walking along the trail when she was allegedly struck from behind with an unknown object by an unknown person.

Police said the suspect was described as a white male with gray shorts, but when they arrived on scene, he was gone. After a search of the area, police said they still haven’t found the suspect.

Despite this, Barbara Romano, who also visits this trail daily, said she’ll continue to do so.

“(I’ll be) extra cautious and (I recommend) always carry something with you. And I have my three beautiful dogs,” Romano said.
