‘Operation: White Tide’ results in 100+ arrests, almost 2 kg of fentanyl seized by Lee Co. deputies
LEE COUNTY, Fla. —
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno hosted a news conference on Thursday to announce the results of a major narcotics investigation.
Marceno said that “Operation: White Tide” has resulted in the arrest of over 100 suspects involved in drug dealing cases.
According to Marceno, in total, the operation resulted in the seizure of:
4 kilograms of cocaine 4 pounds of meth674 grams of ecstasy and oxycodone45 pounds of marijuana51 firearms$121,000 in cashGold jewelryA Chrysler 3001,780 grams of fentanyl
“If one milligram of fentanyl can kill you, then this operation alone has saved 1,780,000 lives,” Marceno said when speaking on the amount of fentanyl seized.
The Drug-Homicide Investigation Team was a major part of the operation, Marceno said, and emphasized his commitment to preventing overdose deaths in Lee County.
Marceno said that Lee County has a zero-tolerance policy for drug dealers, and anyone who deals drugs in the county will be met with the full force of the law.
