NBA Schedule Makers Hit a Home Run for Knicks
By John Jastremski
I don’t know about you, but I have been basking in a post-Knicks championship euphoria all summer long.
I was reminded yet again of the moment this past Saturday when the championship hat that I ordered the night of the title was finally delivered to my Brooklyn doorstep.
It wasn’t the only present I received this past week.
The NBA schedule makers unveiled the schedule for the 26/27 season and my goodness it is delightful.

The Knicks title defense begins in the perfect way. A banner-raising night that King James and the new-look Sixers can witness in person at MSG.
The Knicks-Sixers matchups are going to be must-see TV all season; might as well start the season with a bang!
As far as when you’ll get an NBA Finals rematch, how’s Christmas Day sound?
Wemby and the Spurs may get another lump of coal to end 2026.
One more highlight: circle Feb. 7. Perhaps you’ll see a potential Finals preview against the loaded Oklahoma City Thunder, who should be fully healthy this time around.
There are tons of fun matchups all season. Haliburton’s return for the Pacers. The new-look Heat with Giannis. Oh, and Knicks-Celtics should be spicy with Mitchell Robinson on the other side of the rivalry.
There’s a long way to go until we hit Banner Night, but man this title defense should be fun!
