WINDSOR, Bertie County — One of two men wanted in connection with a breaking and entering investigation in Bertie County has been captured, while deputies continue searching for the second suspect.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that Phillip Michael Dilday has been captured.

Jim Doye Bembridge remains wanted.

The investigation stems from an incident on Hoggard Mill Road in Windsor on July 14.

The sheriff’s office previously obtained arrest warrants for both men on charges of:

Breaking and enteringInjury to personal propertyObtaining nonferrous metalPossession of stolen goods/propertyFelony conspiracy to commit breaking and enteringFelony conspiracy to commit larceny

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who knows Bembridge’s whereabouts to report the information to deputies.

Officials also warned that anyone found assisting or harboring Bembridge will be taken into custody for harboring a fugitive.
