Jermain Defoe has made a prediction involving the Premier League’s top four that won’t go down well among Arsenal fans.
In just a few days, the 2025/26 Premier League season will get under way, and Arsenal will fancy their chances of going all the way.
The Gunners have made a number of top signings, such as Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres, and the team certainly looks stronger than it did last term.
However, this season is likely to be especially competitive, with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United having also strengthened considerably.

Jermain Defoe was among a number of pundits who gave their Premier League top four predictions on Goal.com.
And while most pundits had Arsenal down as second, with Theo Walcott naming them in third, Defoe predicted that the Gunners would finish fourth.
The former England striker went with Chelsea in third place, Manchester City in second, and Liverpool at the top.

What Mikel Arteta needs to do with the above predictions
Admittedly, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise for a Tottenham cult hero to give Arsenal the lowest predicted ranking out of all the pundits involved.
Defoe is the only one out of all the involved pundits who reckons Arsenal will finish as low as fourth, with most of the others predicting a second-placed finish.
Mikel Arteta needs to take all these predictions and incorporate them into his opening-day team talk, calling on his players to prove them all wrong by gunning for top spot.
A few Manchester United fans are fearful of Arsenal heading into the first game of the season, which says a lot about how the Gunners are perceived for the most part.
It’ll be exciting to see how the Gunners get their campaign under way.
