Firefighters are currently working two wildfires in or near Columbia County.

The Columbia County fire is along County Road 62E, north of Arkansas 98 and southeast of the Milner community.

The fire was reported at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026 and involves about 1 acre.

The second fire is along Shuler Road, also known as Union County Road 189, just east of the Columbia County line. It was also reported at 3:45 p.m. and also involves about 1 acre.

No power outages have been reported in connection with the fires.

Most counties in the region are under bans prohibiting outdoor burning.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has placed the area under a heat advisory through 8 p.m. Sunday. Heat index values up to 110 degrees are forecast. Magnolia’s temperature was around 100 degrees on Saturday. The wildfire danger is rated as “high.”

With the exception of 0.05 inches of rain on August 8, magnoliareporter.com has recorded no rainfall since July 13.
