Top WNBA DFS Picks and Lineup Strategies for August 23

Following Saturday’s slate that featured exclusively night games, the WNBA season continues Sunday with four matchups to close out the weekend. The Storm will travel to Dallas to take on the Wings in the slate’s lone afternoon matchup, while the other three games will tip off at the same time, including the Mystics against the Fire, the Aces taking on the Tempo, as well as the Fever squaring off against the Sky. The main slate on each platform only features the three evening games, so those are the picks I’ll focus on below.

Elite WNBA DFS PlayersGuards

FanDuel

Natasha Cloud, Sky ($6,500) vs. Fever

Cloud has been a dominant force for the Sky recently, including a career-best 35-point performance against the Liberty on Tuesday as she came within one rebound of a double-double. At her current salary, she would’ve provided over 4x value in each of her last four appearances. She’s had plenty of looks from the floor during that time, and even though the Sky could get DiJonai Carrington (foot) back for Sunday’s matchup, Cloud should continue to play a prominent role.

DraftKings

Jackie Young, Aces ($9,700) at Tempo

Several stacks have emerged as intriguing options in recent DFS columns, and Sunday is no exception on DraftKings, beginning with Young, who would have provided over 4x value at this salary in four of her last five appearances. She’s scored at least 24 points in four of her last five outings, and she props up her DFS appeal with her production on the boards and in the assists column. She should have plenty of opportunities to thrive against the shorthanded Tempo on Sunday.

Forwards/Centers

FanDuel

Kamilla Cardoso, Sky ($7,500) vs. Fever

Sticking with the Sky among the elite options on Sunday’s slate, Cardoso has a slightly higher salary than Natasha Cloud, but Cardoso is in the midst of a run in which she’s posted four double-doubles across her last five appearances while providing over 4x value at this salary in four consecutive outings. The Fever have a relatively solid defense against opposing centers but will be playing the second half of a back-to-back set Sunday, so there could be opportunities for Sky players to step up as the team seeks its fourth consecutive victory.

DraftKings

A’ja Wilson, Aces ($12,700) at Tempo

Wilson has been a mainstay in this column all season, and she’s the frontrunner to take home her fifth WNBA MVP award in 2026. She’s coming off a relatively lackluster outing in which she was held to 29.3 DK points against Connecticut on Thursday, but she reached the 20-point threshold in that matchup for the fourth time in her last five appearances. Although Wilson has the highest salary on Sunday’s slate by a relatively considerable margin, she’s been among the most reliable DFS options in the league this year.

Mid-Range WNBA DFS Picks

FanDuel

Megan DiLeo, Fire ($5,300) vs. Mystics

Although DiLeo isn’t a regular source of double-doubles, she provides consistent production in the scoring and rebounding columns while also generating occasional results in other areas. Since returning from a two-game absence in mid-July, DiLeo has posted at least 4x value at this salary in eight of 10 appearances despite not playing over 30 minutes in any of those outings. She has a solid floor that is beneficial for DFS managers looking for a steady mid-range option.

DraftKings

Laura Juskaite, Tempo ($7,100) vs. Aces

The matchup between the Tempo and the Aces feature plenty of opportunities to find value, as the Aces should be able to thrive against a shorthanded Toronto squad, while the Tempo have plenty of players with intriguing salaries who should have the opportunity to step up Sunday. Juskaite is no exception, as she’s posted at least 22.0 DK points in three of her last four appearances while providing over 4x value at this salary in two of those outings. She’s been an inconsistent option in recent weeks, as she was held scoreless against Atlanta on Aug. 10 before scoring just two points against the Fever on Aug. 18. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her handle increased work for her team Sunday after the Tempo snapped a 12-game losing streak Friday against the Fire.

WNBA DFS Value Picks

FanDuel

Temi Fagbenle, Tempo ($3,700) vs. Aces

Fagbenle has had an inconsistent role for the Tempo in recent weeks, but she’s in the midst of a hot streak in which she’s posted at least 10.5 FD points in three conseuctive appearances. She was unable to extend her double-digit scoring streak to three games during Friday’s matchup against the Fire, but she’s effective enough in other areas to prop up her DFS production. The Tempo will be shorthanded during Sunday’s game, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Fagbenle maintain her recent role.

DraftKings

Kia Nurse, Tempo ($4,100) vs. Aces

Rounding out the Tempo stack, Nurse could provide value on both platforms Sunday, but I’ll highlight her potential on DraftKings. She’s played at least 16 minutes in each of her last four appearances and has posted at least 14.5 DK points in three of those outings. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her with additional playing time against the Aces on Sunday given how many absences the Tempo will have. Even though Nurse hasn’t been the strongest source of upside this season, she’s generally a reliable contributor when she sees enough minutes, and playing time shouldn’t be too difficult to come by Sunday.
