The most concerning aspect of AC Milan’s win over Torino on Sunday night was perhaps the fact that Mario Gila hobbled off.

Gila had a good first competitive match as a new Milan player. The Spanish defender played with the kind of intensity that convinced the management to sign him, demonstrating his recovery pace and his tenacity in duels too. Hopefully, it will be the first good start of many.

However, there was a moment of worry in the second half when the substitute Njie managed to get the better of Gila down the Rossoneri’s right side and he hit the post with a venomous shot from inside the box, with Maignan not knowing too much about it.

In the process, Gila seemed to over-extend himself in going for the ball. He tried to play on for a couple of minutes but he was forced off in the end due to feeling discomfort, and was replaced by Matteo Gabbia.

MilanNews have some good news though, stating that there is ‘no need to worry’. They have learned that Gila was merely suffering from cramps, and therefore it doesn’t seem as though he has done any muscle damage or anything more severe.
