(LEARFIELD) – For the second year in a row a Bucks draft pick is being sent overseas for more experience.

Malique Lewis was taken in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft.

He is headed to Australia after signing a two-year deal with the Cairns Taipans.

NBC Sports reports that the 21-year-old forward played for the South East Melbourne Phoenix last season, connecting on almost 39 percent of his 3-pointers and averaging seven points and four rebounds per game.

Bogoljub Markovic was taken by Milwaukee in the 2025 draft, then played last season in Serbia.
