GRESHAM, Ore. (KATU) — Police confirmed a cougar was spotted in Gresham late Wednesday night.
“At 10:30 p.m., police responded to the 2000 block of Southeast Fleming Avenue after a citizen reported seeing a cougar in a tree near Springwater Trail High School,” Gresham police said.
When officers arrived, they spotted the large cat still in the tree.
“The Oregon State Police were notified,” the agency said. “At this time, we ask the public to remain vigilant and call 911 if the animal is seen walking in the area.”
This is the second cougar spotted in Gresham this week. On Tuesday morning, a cougar was euthanized near Wilkes Elementary School.
