TRENTON, NJ (WPVI) — Two people are dead, and eight others were left injured following a mass shooting in Trenton, New Jersey.
Police say they responded to reports of a shooting around 12:23 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Locust Street.
Upon arrival, officers located several victims who were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center either by ambulance or private vehicle.
In total, 10 people suffered gunshot wounds.
Two of those victims, a 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, were pronounced dead.
Eight other victims, two women and six men ranging in age from 23 to 43, were treated for their injuries.
According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a large block party attended by approximately 100 people was being held when multiple suspects walked up to the party and began firing into the crowd.
More than 50 shell casings were located at the scene, which spanned the entire 100 block of Locust Street.
Police say they are reviewing surveillance footage, and attempting to locate helpful witnesses.
So far, no arrests have been made.
