SAN ANTONIO – The 2026 San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame class was inducted Saturday, honoring athletes, coaches and teams whose accomplishments helped shape the city’s sports history.
This year’s class was headlined by two major figures in UTSA football: Larry Coker and Frank Harris.
Coker was the first head football coach in UTSA history, from 2011 to 2015, and helped launch the Roadrunners’ program from the ground up. His leadership laid the foundation for college football in San Antonio.
Harris went on to become one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in school history during his seven seasons with the Roadrunners. He led UTSA through some of the program’s most successful seasons and became one of the most recognizable players to come through the university.
“Fighting, grinding and not giving up,” Harris said. “My parents raised us to never quit. I made it through a lot of injuries throughout my career, but I never quit. Looking at it now, it all makes sense, and I’m just blessed to be here.”
Harris said his favorite career moment was helping bring UTSA its first conference championship.
“I would probably say us winning our first conference championship,” Harris said. “I stayed at UTSA. I wanted to stay in San Antonio to bring a championship to San Antonio. And I was blessed and able to do that. So that was probably the most special moment throughout my college career.”
The class also includes Olympic swimming medalist James Feigen, UTSA track and field All-American Tameka Roberts-Nuñez and the 1971 LEE High School state championship football team.
