A Mountain Home woman captured her fifth stone skipping championship in six years over the weekend. Ashlie Hueter won the Great Southern Stone Skipping Championship in Little Rock.

Hueter has only entered the competition six times, winning the event five times and finishing second in 2024.

Hueter won this year’s title with 16 skips.

Another Mountain Home woman, Sam Conner, finished third in the women’s division with 14 skips.

In the men’s division, a Stone County man, Casey Broome of Timbo, finished second with 25 skips. He was three skips behind the winner.
