VICTORVILLE, CA — Sierra Golf Management will cease operational oversight of the Green Tree Golf Course as the city plans to seek new overseers.
Sierra Golf chose to cancel its contract with 30 days’ notice, and the city will operate the golf course and pro shop effective Sept. 1, 2026, as it searches for a new operator, the city stated.

To ensure a smooth transition of services, the golf course and pro shop will undergo a single-day closure on Sept. 1 as city staff assumes operations and is provided training, the city stated.
Normal operations for the golf course and pro shop will resume on Sept. 2. The daily hours of operation will remain unchanged.
In August 2024, the Victorville City Council contracted with Sierra Golf with a limit not to exceed $2,948,951 for management services of the Green Tree Golf Course from Sept. 1, 2024, through Aug. 31, 2029, according to city records.

Sierra Golf posts comments
On Friday, Sierra Golf took to Facebook to announce its departure as operators and thanked the city for the long-standing relationship and the opportunity to serve the Greentree community.
They also thanked golf members, families, junior golfers, and staff who have supported the golf course throughout the company’s time there.
Sierra Golf directed all annual members, including parents and guardians of junior golf members, to contact the pro shop or email tanner@sierragolfmanagement.com for important information regarding their membership.
Sierra Golf manages 11 courses in Northern California and one in Palm Desert, in the Low Desert of Southern California.
Sierra Golf has not responded to a request for comments sent by the Daily Press.

Golf course and library
Located on Green Tree Boulevard, the 18-hole golf course opened in 1963 and features a par-72 layout stretching just over 6,600 yards.
The Victorville golf course was designed by William F. Bell, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
In February 2026, the city hosted a grand opening for its new library, a construction expansion of the golf course building, which included a vacant restaurant adjacent to the golf course’s pro shop.
