DTSF South End Redevelopment Opportunities:
Changes may be coming to downtown Sioux Falls’ south end, as several longtime buildings are now for sale or lease.
The Masonic Center, a nearly 80-year-old midcentury building on First Avenue, used by various lodges and groups as a gathering space, is being put up fr sale as the current owners look for a smaller and more modern space.
The century-old Carroll Institute is also up for sale as the nonprofit plans to relocate to a new building on West 12th Street later this year.
The former Printers Inc building near the Top Hat is for lease, and the city is considering a deal to develop the adjacent parking lot on 13th Street between Phillips and First Avenues.
Changes at Former Spring Creek Golf Course:
The new owners of Spring Creek Golf Course are celebrating their first year of improvements and a new name: The Creek, a title longtime golfers have used for years.
This year is shaping up to be a record one for the course, with sold-out memberships and a packed event schedule. Memberships for next year will be available this week.
Golfers can expect changes, including repairs to a storm-damaged hole. A new clubhouse, restaurant, and event venue are planned for about five years from now, aligned with the area’s growth.
