WAYLAND, Mich. — Neighbors are being asked to limit water usage after officials with the City of Wayland said a possible lightning strike affected the city’s water wells during storms Friday.

“To ensure everyone has access to water, we kindly ask all residents to limit water usage as much as possible,” city officials wrote on Facebook. “This includes reducing laundry, showers and outdoor watering.”

City officials are expected to provide updates as they become available.
