We’ve received several nominations across multiple awards in the 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist.
The annual awards highlight the very best players, coaches and clubs from the previous season, and our Premier League title triumph, coupled with our run to the Champions League Final, have earned us a series of nominations.
MEN’S YASHIN TROPHY
After winning a third-consecutive Golden Glove award in the Premier League, David Raya has been nominated for the Men’s Yashin Trophy, an award for the world’s best goalkeeper from the previous season.
David, who was also nominated for the award last season, kept clean sheets in more than half of his Premier League games, recording 19 shutouts in 37 appearances.
His heroics helped us to secure several valuable results in our title-winning season, with outstanding stops in wins over Manchester United and Brighton standing out in particular.
Our no.1 was just as crucial in the Champions League, as he conceded just five goals in 14 appearances against Europe’s best attacks.
Men’s Yashin Trophy nominations: Yassine Bounou (Al-Hilal, Morocco), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid, Belgium), Joan Garcia, (Barcelona, Spain), Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund, Switzerland), Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa/Chelsea, Argentina), Eduoard Mendy (Al-Ahli, Senegal), David Raya (Arsenal, Spain), Matvey Safanov (Paris Saint-Germain, Russia), Unai Simon (Spain, Athletic Club), Vozinha (Chaves/Colo-Colo, Cape Verde).
MEN’S COACH OF THE YEAR
Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Men’s Coach of the Year award after guiding us to the Premier League title and two major finals.
The boss became just the second manager in the Premier League era to guide us to domestic glory, joining only Arsene Wenger as the only managers to win the title in north London.
As well as our success in the league, we eliminated Brighton, Crystal Palace and Chelsea to reach the Carabao Cup Final, and beat Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid among others on the way to the Champions League Final in Budapest.
Mikel is part of a Spanish-dominated shortlist for the men’s coach award. Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery and Spain’s Luis de la Fuente are all nominated, with Bayern Munich’s Belgian manager Vincent Kompany rounding off the list.
MEN’S CLUB OF THE YEAR
Our success last season has seen the club nominated for the Men’s Club of the Year award.
We won the league title by seven points, winning 26 top flight games, including the final five matches of the season to secure top spot over Manchester City.
In the Champions League, we reached the final for just the second time in club history, conceding just seven goals in our 15 matches in the competition.
As well as ourselves, European champions Paris Saint-Germain and South American champions Flamengo make the shortlist, alongside Norway’s Bodo/Glimt and German champions Bayern Munich.
The winners of all of the Ballon d’Or awards will be announced at a special ceremony on Monday, October 26, which for the first time in the 70-year history of the awards, will take place in London.
