Retired NASCAR driver’s North Carolina home broken into, 2 arrested, deputies say
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —
Two arrests have been made after the home of a retired NASCAR driver’s in North Carolina was broken into, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said retired Cup Series driver and team owner David Marcis’ home in Arden was broken into on Aug. 28, 2026, and several items were stolen.
During the investigation, authorities said they arrested Hailey Bowlin and Cameron Samotis in connection with the burglary.

Bowlin is charged with Second-Degree Burglary, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Larceny of a Firearm, Larceny After Breaking and Entering, and five counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.
Samotis is charged with Second-Degree Burglary.
Both are being held at the Henderson County Detention Center.
Authorities said a majority of the items stolen from Marcis have been recovered.
