The rabbit in the hole at the Hollins Hall Golf Course in Baildon, West Yorkshire – Solent News
For golfers, scoring a birdie, an eagle or even an albatross is the highlight of any round.
But staff at a golf course in West Yorkshire had a surprise when they found a rabbit curled up in the hole on one of its greens.
The young rabbit found the cosy resting spot at Hollins Hall Golf Club in Baildon, curling up around the flagpole.
John Osborne made the discovery while he was doing his checks of the greens – Solent News
John Osborne, a greenkeeper, made the discovery while carrying out an inspection of the greens and said it was “absolutely adorable”.
Mr Osborne, 49, who has worked at Hollins Hall for more than four years, said: “I was doing my initial check of the greens, and when I went to pull the flag on the eighth hole, I saw this bunny curled up around the pole.
“I gently lifted the flag out, and it just sat up and looked at me – it was absolutely adorable.
“We have lots of wildlife around the course – foxes, badgers, red kites and even deer. Seeing rabbits hopping around isn’t unusual, but I’ve never seen one this small tucked inside the cup before.”
