Whether it is on or off the court, Indiana Fever fan favorite Sophie Cunningham knows how to make a headline and get the WNBA fans buzzing. That was once again the case on Friday afternoon.
Throughout the day, photos began to surface online of the Sixth Player of the Year candidate enjoying a boat day as part of her delayed 30th birthday celebration during the league’s FIBA Women’s World Cup break.
From there, dating rumors began circulating with photos of Cunningham and Grand Canyon University head athletic trainer Frank Adams cozying up together went viral.
It’s important to note that Cunningham nor Adams have not confirmed that she is in a relationship, but that hasn’t stopped social media from running with the story.

Sophie Cunningham Has Not Confirmed Boyfriend Speculation
Cunningham and Adams were spotted together during the birthday celebration, which ignited the viral rumors, and it’s not the first time that the two have been linked.
They were previously seen together enjoying Grand Canyon basketball games and at a GCU bowling event, though neither have commented on the speculation. The photos, however, were cherry-picked from a group gathering and boat day, which included family and friends.

Cunningham has emerged as one of the WNBA’s most popular players since joining forces with Caitlin Clark in Indiana. She has been outspoken about a number of topics, including her stance on transgender athletes in sports, which sparked plenty of discourse, but when it comes to her personal dating life, Cunningham has remained private.
This season, Cunningham is averaging just 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for the 26-14 Fever, who return to the court in one week on Friday, September 18, following the league’s FIBA Women’s World Cup break.
