Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull congratulated former teammate Destanni Henderson on her engagement.
Henderson, who is currently playing overseas in Turkey, proposed to her partner Zariah Lynn on Sept. 1, but it wasn’t until Friday that the couple shared the news publicly via a joint Instagram post.
The endearing post featured nine photos from the proposal, which included Henderson down on one knee while holding out an engagement ring. The announcement immediately drew congratulatory messages from friends and fans alike.
Hull was among those who reacted to Henderson’s personal announcement. The Fever guard left a sweet message to the couple in the comments.
“Congrats you two 🥹🤍🤍🤍,” Hull wrote.
Both Hull and Henderson were selected by the Fever in the 2022 WNBA Draft. Hull was the sixth overall pick, while the latter was selected in the second round.
Both primarily came off the bench during their rookie seasons, with Hull averaging 3.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 12.8 minutes across 26 games.
Henderson, on the other hand, averaged of 5.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 16.4 minutes for 36 games.
The Fever decided to waive Henderson after just one season with the team. Meanwhile, Hull earned a starting spot in her second year.
Hull is currently still the starting shooting guard for head coach Stephanie White. The 6-foot-2 guard is averaging 5.4 points and 3.1 rebounds, while shooting 43.5% overall and 34.8% from three.
Hull and the Fever are currently fifth in the league standings with a 26-14 record. They will return from the FIBA World Cup break on Friday with a road matchup against the Toronto Tempo.
Indiana aims to win all four of its remaining games to give itself a chance at a better seeding heading into the playoffs.
