One month after suffering a mental health episode on TikTok Live, Perez Hilton is out of the hospital.
“After weeks in the hospital receiving treatment for his physical injuries, Perez entered a residential treatment program where he can focus fully on his mental health and recovery,” his family shared via Hilton’s website on Monday, September 14.
The statement continued, “This was an important next step, but there’s still a long road ahead. Perez is expected to remain in residential treatment for several more weeks, potentially longer, depending on what his treatment team believes is best for his recovery.”
Hilton, 48, remains in recovery after a disturbing livestream on August 4 in which the internet blogger was fully unclothed as he appeared to repeatedly harm himself with a butcher knife. Concerned viewers contacted authorities, who rushed to Hilton’s Florida home.
The self-proclaimed OG influencer — real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. — is focused on “getting healthy.”
“Our job as his family is to support him, care for his children, and give them the stability they need while he does that,” the family’s statement continued, adding that Hilton’s children — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8 — are “together, safe, and doing well.”

The family went on to shut down rumors of Hilton’s recovery, denying a Daily Mail report that claimed he had “lost ten years of his memory.”
“[He] does not believe it’s 2016, and is not confused about where he is. He is lucid and communicates clearly with his family,” his family confirmed. “No family member, and no one authorized to speak on Perez’s behalf, provided these false claims.”
