Baltimore police deputy commissioner Brian Nadeau suspended amid investigation, department says
BALTIMORE —
Baltimore Police Deputy Commissioner Brian Nadeau has been suspended from his role amid an investigation, the department confirmed to WBAL-TV 11 News.
In a statement, a spokesperson said the department was “aware of an investigation” involving allegations against Nadeau.
“The Baltimore Police Department is aware of an investigation involving allegations made in reference to a member of our command staff,” a spokesperson said. “In accordance with BPD protocol, the members’ police powers were suspended, pending the outcome of the investigation.”
The spokesperson did not address the allegations against Nadeau involved.
Nadeau has more than three decades of law enforcement experience, including at the local and federal level.
He was appointed as the Deputy Police Commissioner of the Public Integrity Bureau in September 2019 by then-BPD Commissioner Michael Harrison.
Before serving in the Baltimore Police Department, Nadeau served in the FBI, where he led the FBI’s Public Corruption Unit from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, Nadeau was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office.
