OSAKIS — Following a trying weekend for the Osakis girls tennis team, the Silverstreaks returned home to pick up a victory on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Osakis topped New London-Spicer in a home dual at the Osakis Tennis Courts by a 5-2 final, snapping a short three-dual losing streak. The Silverstreaks swept all three doubles matches contested while winning matches in the lower singles flights.
Among winners, Serena Moore picked up the win in Flight 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 final over Indianna Johnson, while Rayna Zimmel was victorious at Flight 3 against Claire Olson, scoring the match victory 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles play, Lexy Marthaler and Erika Baker defeated Erin Peterson and Emma Snow at Flight 1 by a 6-3, 7-5 final, while MaKia Herickhoff and Alexis Bruder narrowly won the first set over Autumn Foshaug and Lenora Hanson at Flight 3 en route to a 7-6 (5), 6-1 win.
Osakis (6-8) is set to host the Prairie Conference tournament on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Osakis Tennis Courts.

Minnewaska Area nearly perfect against LQPV-DB
MADISON — The Minnewaska Area girls tennis team had few road blocks on its way to a sweep on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Lakers picked up a 7-0 dual victory over Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd at the Lac qui Parle Valley Middle-High School tennis courts, including perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in the top flights of singles play.
Isabelle Wallin orchestrated one of the sweeps in Flight 1 over Camryn Oleson, while Ariana Quelle defeated Reese Koosman at Flight 2 singles. Kaylen Blair and Hannah Hoeper were also winners on the day at Flight 3 and Flight 4 in singles against the Eagles, respectively.
In doubles, Kennedy Blair and Peyton Sundheim played the most competitive match of the day at Flight 2, topping Brianna Borstad and Riley Clark in straight sets to pick up the win 6-3, 6-3, completing the sweep in the process.
Minnewaska (12-5) gears up for a road dual against Montevideo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17.
