Perez Hilton‘s family is in need of financial assistance as the blogger continues to recover from a mental health episode on TikTok Live last month.

On Thursday, September 17, Hilton’s official website shared a link to a GoFundMe set up by his longtime friend, Tom D’Angora.

“To everyone who has continued to ask how they can help Perez’s family during this difficult time, thank you,” D’Angora wrote, adding that the fundraiser will help “Perez’s mother care for his three children, Mario, Mia, and Mayte, during the months ahead.”

Hilton, 48, is dad to three kids — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8 — and recently moved back to his hometown of Miami with his mother, Teresita Lavandeira. She is now caring for his children.

The blogger remains in recovery after an alarming livestream on August 4 in which he wore no clothes while harming himself with a butcher knife. After a standoff with authorities, he was taken to the hospital. According to another post on his website shared September 14, Hilton has since been moved to “a residential treatment program where he can focus fully on his mental health and recovery.”

Perez Hilton and family

“I’ve known Perez Hilton (Mario) for 14 years and we have become very close friends, and during that time, he and his family have come to mean a great deal to me,” D’Angora wrote in the GoFundMe. “With the support of his friends, I’m organizing this fundraiser to help his mother and his three children, Mario, Mia, and Mayte, during his treatment and recovery.”

“Perez is currently receiving full-time residential treatment while he focuses on his mental health and recovery. This process will take time,” he continued. “In the meantime, his mother has stepped in to care for his children full-time and give them the stability and support they need.”

Citing the “significant and unexpected expenses” Lavendeira has taken on, D’Angora praised her for putting “much of her life on hold to make sure the kids can continue going to school, participating in their normal activities, and having as much consistency as possible during an incredibly difficult time.”

D’Angora insisted all funds raised will go toward Hilton’s family and not the controversial blogger personally.

According to his family, Hilton is expected to remain in treatment for “several more weeks, potentially longer.” His children, they added, “remain together, safe, and doing well” in their grandmother’s care.
